Good surprises
Just below our kitchen window, twice a week, we can watch this outdoor market come to life. Berlin is a huge, bustling city, but our neighborhood in Wilmersdorf is a pleasant green place, well removed from the center, and feels like just what we need at the end of the day. We're settling in, letting our brains adjust to German. Enjoying the good breads here, not to mention all the other tempting things in the Backerei windows. Other good surprises: the neighborhood church bells, the efficient and user friendly public transport system (including double decker busses), and Richard discovering that we live close enough to his 'office' that he could walk there, if he feels like it.
